2027 "Bluff to Bluff" Road Bicycle Race
Sunday August 1st, 2027 10:00am
A 48.8 mile road race starting at the base of Powers Bluff Park heading South and West via rolling country roads up and over Cary Bluff then veering North and East to the base of Powers Bluff with a 1.3 mile 250' climb to the finish. Citizen Racing Series....license not required. All ages/genders/abilities welcomed.
"One Bluffs Enough" route of 25 miles is an option.
2026 Bluff to Bluff Press Release: At 10:00am on an idyllic August 2nd Sunday morning 57 powerfully skilled, intently focused Cyclists stood at the base of Powers Bluff Wood County Park at Arpin, Wisconsin anxious to compete in the 7th Annual "Bluff to Bluff 50 mile Road Bicycle Race" which winds past farm fields, up and over Cary Bluff, through wild lands and small villages with a finish atop Powers Bluff.
What unfolded over the next two hours is the most intensely combative Bluff to Bluff Race ever witnessed! Mile two Labi Shabani (32) launched a massive uncontested solo attack. The Peloton absorbed Labi at mile 13 atop Cary Bluff with Aidric Gengler (18) capturing the KOM in a hot duel with Aitor Azkarrage (24). A game of strategic cat and mouse ensued between Aitor, Aidric and Benjamin Lesalnieks (27) thereby allowing the lead Peloton to create a 2 minute gap over these three contenders. The trio pacelined their way back to the lead Peloton at mile 35 to discover Labi had created a 1 mile solo gap on the Lead Peloton! Desperate, Aitor launched a massive solo 10 mile/16km-30mph/50kph attack successfully catching and then dropping the valiant Labi at mile 46 at the base of Powers Bluff climb to the finish. In Aitor's solo wake a hard charging peloton led by Aidric and John Lee (23) ultimately joined Labi in the final meters of the climb for a sprint photo finish for 2nd, 3rd and 4th!!!! Sami Doberstein (18) and Rachel Krouse (23) fought a duel to the finish in the Women's Division as they impressively embedded themselves in the powerful second Peloton with Sami tying the course record of 23.1mph!

4th - Rachel Cook - Stevens Point Cycling 2:21:16 20.8mph/33.47
5th - Lila Cuff - Stevens Point Cycling 2:30:54 19.5mph/31.28kph

Stevens Point Cycling Captured the Team Award.
Rachel Cook received the Sportsmanship award.
Joan and Denny Riedel received the Legacy Award for their lifelong unwavering positive impact on Sport and Fitness.
Ten Racers completed in the 25 mile "One Bluff’s Enough Race" with Women’s Overall awarded to Delaney Cantlon (22) of Ettrick, WI (1:32:38 16.2mph/26.0kph) and Ketura Luginbuhl (30) of Wisconsin Rapids, WI capturing 2nd. In the Mens Division Easton Wheling (15) of Mondovi, WI (1:11:12, 21.1mph/33.95kph ave) put his inheritance in jeopardy by dropping his father Adam Wehling (46) (1:11:54) on the climb to the finish to capture the Overall One Bluff title. Lawrence Bergquist of Mercer, WI (71) filled the podium with a time of 1:23:30.
Race directors, without question, applaud the 2026 Bluff to Bluff as the "Best Ever" and extend a sincere "Thank-you!” to all involved in the production.
